Ryan Reynolds gave a brief update on Deadpool 3, which will be produced by Marvel Studios.

The last time audiences had the chance to see Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) in his own movie was in 2018. Since then, 21st Century Fox was acquired by The Walt Disney Company, bringing characters from the X-Men and the Fantastic Four into Marvel Studios’ control. With that in mind, Deadpool 3 will officially be produced by Marvel Studios and take place within the current canon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Although there has been little news on how far Deadpool 3 is in its development, Ryan Reynolds now has a small update on the film’s status. While speaking to Collider promoting his new Netflix film The Adam Project, he revealed that there should be some definitive news in the near future:

“We pretty much talk about everything, but I’ll say this about that particular subject is I’ll have a batch of updates on that sooner rather than later, I hope. So I’ll be able to get into stuff about Deadpool a little bit more clearly and definitively down the road.”

Deadpool 3 is currently in development at Marvel Studios with Bob’s Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin writing the script. Here is the official “synopsis” for Deadpool 2:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of “World’s Best Lover.”

Directed by David Leitch from a script written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Ryan Reynolds, the film stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, and Jack Kesy.

Deadpool 2 is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Ryan Reynolds’ upcoming third film with Marvel Studios and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
