Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds recently provided an update on Deadpool 3 while discussing his marketing work on the franchise.
With many Deadpool fans are still waiting to see how the Merc with a Mouth will wind up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, Ryan Reynolds recently provided an update about Deadpool 3. The star was talking to Fast Company about a variety of topics, explaining that working on the film made him realize how fun marketing can be. No doubt fans will remember the various ways Fox marketed the first Deadpool film, leaning into the anarchic chaos of the mutant anti-hero.
“Before Deadpool, I had never looked at promotion as anything other than obligatory. But what I realized was that it can actually be creatively satisfying. And a lot of fun—not just for me, but for the audience.”
Unfortunately, it isn’t clear when we’ll next Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds back in action as Wade Wilson, as he told the publication that he doesn’t know when the hero will cross paths with the MCU because of the extensive delays faced by the film and TV industry due to the global pandemic. Reynolds recently joked that Deadpool 3 is taking so long because they’re trying to solve the mystery of who originally leaked the test footage.
“Three words. I don’t know. Obviously, everything is on pause right now.”
Do you want to see Ryan Reynolds cause havoc for the Avengers in the MCU? What do you want from Deadpool 3? Sound-off in the comments!
