Is Logan truly the greatest to ever do it? Ryan Reynolds gives his thoughts on Hugh Jackman’s final performance prior to Deadpool and Wolverine.
Superhero fans largely consider Logan to be one of, if not the best, genre films of all time. This is in no small part to Hugh Jackman’s final performance as the iconic X-Men hero. However, with Jackman now returning with Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool and Wolverine, some fans have worried that the film will spit in the face of an almost-perfect movie.
Ryan Reynolds was recently asked about his thoughts on Logan, especially as Hugh Jackman’s time as Wolverine ended not long after the first Deadpool film came out. Reynolds admitted that this tied the films together in a way, but that Logan is still one of the best superhero films of all time.
“The movies were quite congruent with each other at that point,” Reynolds told Total Film in a recent interview. “Deadpool was different, and then right after Logan was potentially the greatest comic-book adaptation ever made.”
Logan’s Influence On Deadpool And Wolverine
Luckily for fans, it seems Ryan Reynolds is going out of his way to respect Logan in Deadpool and Wolverine. Every member of the crew has come out to assure fans the film won’t tarnish Hugh Jackman’s final outing. In fact, a rumor suggests that this won’t even be the same Wolverine that was seen in the film.
The Logan influence also doesn’t stop there. All signs point to Hugh Jackman’s co-star Dafne Keen making her return as X-23 in Deadpool and Wolverine. While details about the cameo are obviously being kept under wraps, it seems she’ll be playing a variant from after the events of Logan, now taking on the mantle of Wolverine herself.
