Fans have eagerly awaited any news on Elizabeth Olsen’s return as the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. According to the actress, she’d love to explore Wanda Maximoff’s mutant side with the X-Men if she ever returns to the MCU.
Elizabeth Olsen has become a fan favorite in the MCU following her appearances in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which left many fans disappointed when her fate was left up in the air. While it’s all but confirmed she will return as Wanda Maximoff, the question is where. While speaking at San Antonio’s Superhero Comic Con, Olsen revealed she would love to “figure out” the whole mutant thing and explore the X-Men side of the Marvel Universe:
Wanda Maximoff has had a rocky history with the X-Men and her mutant status in the comics, from erasing almost every mutant in House of M to being retconned from Magneto’s daughter to an experiment by the High Evolutionary. It’s unclear if she’ll end up being retconned once more into a mutant in the MCU, but it seems as though no matter what, Elizabeth Olsen would like to take a walk on the mutant side.

Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg and Rachel McAdams.
The official synopsis for the Doctor Strange sequel reads as follows: “The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.”
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD. It’s also streaming exclusively on Disney Plus.
