Scarlet Witch, Mordo, America Chavez, and more join Doctor Strange in a trippy new Empire Magazine cover.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is finally set to unleash itself later this summer. The highly-anticipated Marvel blockbuster will see Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange dealing with the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw home toying with the multiverse at the behest of Peter Parker. Consequences will be detailed but it remains to be seen how the sequel, directed by Sam Raimi, unfolds.
A variety of new and familiar characters will be joining Doctor Strange in his upcoming romp through space and time. Scarlet Witch, who seems to be appearing in a negative role, joins Doctor Strange, as well as newcomer America Chaves, whose abilities to open multidimensional portals intrigues the good doctor. As always, Sorcerer Supreme Wong and friend-turned-foe Mordo will also appear, making Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness one of the most star-studded Marvel films in recent memory.
With the film set to hit cinemas later this summer, Empire Magazine has debuted two new covers to celebrate the Marvel sequel. While the newsstand cover is a fantastic look at Doctor Strange trying to heal the multiverse, it’s the subscriber cover that perfectly recreates the trippy nature associated with the character. The subscriber cover also features brand new looks at the film’s roster of characters, including Scarlet Witch, Mordo, America Chavez, Garagantos, and Rintrah.
Here is the synopsis for the upcoming film:
The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, the upcoming movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams.
