Unless you’re not paying attention, I guarantee you that no one walked out of Avengers: Infinity War earlier this year and settled on the possibility that the deaths inflicted upon by Thanos would be permanent. Not the least of which includes those snapped out of existence at the end of the film. And with Janet, Hope, and Hank also revealed to be snapped out at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp, it’s even more certain that many, if not all, of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be returning in Avengers 4 in some capacity. Just ask Sebastian Stan.
In fact, someone did just that in a prior interview with the Winter Soldier. While not everyone appeared in Avengers: Infinity War, it’s not unlikely that those not featured in Infinity War in some way, shape, or form would pop up in Avengers 4. Why not in what’s supposed to be the culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far? Now to be clear, Sebastian Stan is nowhere near as bad as Tom Holland, Mark Ruffalo, or even Gwyneth Paltrow when it comes to spoilers, but let’s look at some older interviews in new context.
Previously, Sebastian Stan stated in one interview that he had filmed scenes with Samuel L. Jackson, as well as Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer, the latter two of whom were nowhere to be seen in Infinity War. And given them being turned to dust in the Ant-Man sequel, it’s a given right now to believe that he meant the fourth Avengers film unless he meant that Nick Fury, Hank Pym, and Janet would be joining Bucky and Falcon in their Disney mini-series… which of course wasn’t announced until recently.
And in the video below at the 3:20 mark, Sebastian Stan defends himself, saying that he didn’t reveal anything all too crazy. But then, fans are quite meticulous and will dissect anything actors say, especially when it comes to unraveling Infinity War and Avengers 4. Here, have a look and judge for yourself if Sebastian Stan revealed anything, as he said, all that crazy.
Because a lot of Avengers 4 was filmed simultaneously with Infinity War, and given how secretive the Russo Brothers are in regards to spoilers, it’s plausible that Stan had no idea which film he spoke of when he had a scene with Hank, Nick Fury, and Janet, unless he was playing coy. That’s entirely possible and would be less suspect than anything said by Tom Holland or Mark Ruffalo, that’s for sure.
What do you think? Are there other hints of Avengers 4 spoilers buried within the press done for Infinity War? Does this one interview put the next film in a new light as far as who will be brought back to life? Let us know in the comments below.
