A series of photos from the set of Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion tease a hilarious Hawkeye easter egg.
Marvel Studios has a variety of projects in the work but perhaps the most interesting they have in development is Secret Invasion. Based on the iconic comic run of the same name, the Disney Plus series will see several aspects of human life infiltrated by the Skrulls. One can only imagine the geopolitical conflicts that can manifest from such an invasion. The series is currently in production, and while we don’t know who is a Skrull in the show, we do know a global phenomenon is going to get even bigger.
Set photos from the Marvel series have trickled in, confirming that the Samuel L. Jackson show will be set in the United Kingdom, particularly London, which houses the iconic West End theatre district. Photos have revealed that Rogers: The Musical – a Hamilton-like take on the life of Captain America a.k.a Steve Rogers – will be making its way to London’s theatre district!
The musical first made its appearance in last year’s Hawkeye, which was set in New York. Though Hawkeye and his family eventually walked out of the musical, the production was widely praised within the cinematic universe. The Hawkeye finale’s post-credits sequence even managed to feature an extended look at the musical, which we hope Disney one day does truly bring to life.
Will we see Nick Fury and co. see the Steve Rogers musical? Probably not, but this reference to Hawkey continues to prove just how committed Marvel Studios is to create a faithful interconnected universe.
Here is the synopsis for Hawkeye:
Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.
Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Tony Dalton, Fra Free, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga, Alaqua Cox, Florence Pugh, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. Kevin Feige served as an executive producer on the series.
Hawkeye is available to stream on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding Vincent D’Onofrio’s future in the MCU as Kingpin, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
