Sentry’s Logo Revealed In New ‘Thunderbolts’ Promo art

Sentry gets a makeover!

Sentry is getting a whole new look! The character’s logo gets an interesting redesign in new promo art for Thunderbolts.

Marvel has been playing the cards close to their chest with Thunderbolts. Rightfully so, as it seems the film is setting up a twist that only comic fans see coming: the meek Bob (played by Lewis Pullman) is secretly one of the MCU’s strongest heroes in the form of the Sentry. This is something guarded so tight by the studio that fans haven’t even gotten an official look at his suit, despite Pullman being a member of the main cast.

Mercifully, Marvel is tipping their hand just a bit in the leadup to Thunderbolts hitting theaters. New promo art for the project has surfaced online. While it doesn’t reveal much, it does give fans their first clear look at what Sentry’s logo will look like in the MCU following a small tease in the first trailer. The logo seems much more mechanical than in the original comics, segmenting the ‘S’ into three distinct segments with sharp points.

What Sentry’s Logo Means For Thunderbolts

While some fans may find it ridiculous to read into a slightly redesigned logo, it may actually reveal a lot about how Sentry will be treated in the MCU, and how Thunderbolts may change the character’s origins for Lewis Pullman’s unique take. In the original comics, the Sentry emblem was created by Robert Reynolds when he created his costume in an attempt to be seen as a true hero following the experiments that created him.

Sebastian Stan Reveals How ‘Thunderbolts’ Is Different From Other MCU Films

However, Thunderbolts gives the logo a much more industrial bent. This may suggest that in the MCU, becoming Sentry wasn’t Bob’s idea, but rather the government’s idea. This would explain why the character is seemingly being set up as a twist antagonist for the film, as the trauma of being used as a weapon by the government could be Marvel’s way of introducing The Void into live-action.

Thunderbolts is currently set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
