The Adam Project director Shawn Levy will reunite with Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool 3.
Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is one of the few elements from Fox’s old X-Men universe crossing over to the MCU, with the third film in development at Marvel Studios. We finally have a new update on the project, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that Shawn Levy will direct the next Deadpool film for Marvel Studios.
Shawn Levy recently directed Ryan Reynolds in Free Guy and The Adam Project, which hit Netflix on Friday. The news comes after Reynolds recently said that Levy helming the next Deadpool film would be a dream.
Shawn Levy is also known for directing Stranger Things episodes and helmed other projects such as Real Steel, Big Fat Liar, Cheaper By The Dozen, and the Night at the Museum trilogy. The upcoming film will be Marvel Studios’ first foray into an R-rating with a script penned by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin. The Hollywood Reporter‘s Aaron Couch also shared that the writers of the first two Deadpool films, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, are involved with the third film.
