‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ Gets New Poster & Official Synopsis

Warner Bros. is pulling back the curtain on Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

With the second trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods set to premiere tomorrow, Warner Bros. has revealed an official synopsis for the movie, which reads as follows: “Bestowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with having adult Super Hero alter-egos. But when the Daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient gods, arrive on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago, Billy—aka Shazam—and his family are thrust into a battle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of their world.”

In addition to the Shazam! Fury of the Gods synopsis, IGN has dropped a stunning poster for the movie, giving fan a fresh look at the Marvel family and the Daughters of Atlas. Check it out below.

David F. Sandberg recently announced that Shazam! Fury of the Gods has already been completed ahead of its release in 2023. The first official trailer for the sequel made its debut during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

In addition to Shazam! Fury of the GodsThe FlashBlue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are also currently in various stages of post-production at Warner Bros. Discovery, with all four DC Universe movies set to hit theaters this year. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DC Universe? Only newly-named DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran Safran know.

David F. Sandberg directed Shazam! Fury of the Gods from a script written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan, Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The film stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, D.J. Cotrona, Grace Caroline Currey, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Marta Millans, Cooper Andrews, Djimon Hounsou, Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu and Helen Mirren.
