Shazam! returns to theaters just in time for Christmas!

Shazam! Fury of the Gods Zachary Levi Comic-Con Trailer

The first trailer for Zachary Levi’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods has debuted at San Diego Comic-Con!

The last time Zachary Levi was at San Diego Comic-Con, he attended in 2018 to showcase the first trailer for his DCEU debut as Shazam!. Now, he returns four years later with the highly-anticipated sequel, Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

Zachary Levi and much of the cast of Shazam! Fury of the Gods participated in a special Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con to promote the sequel to David F. Sandberg’s 2019 film. Here, we get our newest look at Levi along with much of his Shazam Family (or Shazamily), as well as the villains played by Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu. We also get an exciting look at West Side Story breakout Rachel Zegler.

You can check out the Comic-Con trailer for Zachary Levi’s sequel down below.

Shazam v Black Adam coming?

Naturally, with both Black Adam and Shazam set to have films coming out this year, many are keeping their fingers crossed for a film in which the two beloved DC characters face off. It’s safe to say that based on seeing the trailers and Comic-Con footage for Dwayne Johnson’s long-awaited film, Zachary Levi and his Shazamily will have quite a threat to face. Perhaps they’ll need assistance from a certain Kryptonian…

Here is the synopsis for the first Shazam! film:

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quick.

Directed by David F. Sandberg from a script written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan, the film stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Djimon Hounsou, Rachel Zegler, Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, Faithe Herman, Meagan Good, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Ross Butler, Jovan Armand, D.J. Cotrona, Marta Millans, and Cooper Andrews.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods opens on December 21, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film, and other exciting news from San Diego Comic-Con, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
