James Gunn, director of The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 may have teased a potential appearance at San Diego Comic-Con.
After a long hiatus amidst the pandemic, San Diego Comic-Con looks to return in full-swing next week. And with the return of the biggest event in geek culture comes the return of massive panels from DC Films and Marvel Studios. One figure that is currently tied to both of those companies is James Gunn, who directed last year’s The Suicide Squad and is currently working on post-production for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
San Diego Comic-Con has many booths that are big opportunities for fans to purchase some exclusive collectibles and merchandise, and one thing that collectors will certainly seek out is this duo of collectible posters from Mondo centered on James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad. Next Saturday July 23, both DC Films and Marvel Studios will have special panels at San Diego Comic-Con’s coveted Hall H. In regards to DC Films, we are guaranteed a special showcase of Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods, while Marvel Studios is likely to present the future of their slate, which includes Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Given that both of these panels are ripe with an opportunity for James Gunn to appear – paired with his tweet regarding these collectible Mondo posters for The Suicide Squad, it is likely that he will be at the convention center to showcase some of his highly-anticipated new projects.
Odds are that we will see something related to both Vol. 3 and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and if more news comes out from DC regarding Gunn’s new projects following The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker Season 1, it’s sure shaping up to be an exciting and triumphant return for San Diego Comic-Con.
