Reviews for Shazam! Fury of the Gods have turned rotten. One of its stars, Rachel Zegler, stands to defend the film, insisting that it is “very good”.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods was destined for a rough arrival, with even generous projections predicting a low box office for its opening weekend. While initial reviews for the film were overwhelmingly positive, things quickly turned rotten for the sequel, landing it at a 52% on Rotten Tomatoes with critics. Zegler, who plays Anthea in the film, took to Twitter to try to defend the film, saying that it deserves some love. Her Twitter thread can be seen below:
Rachel Zegler’s comments about the audience score have only been proven more true since her initial Tweet, with the number now at 88%. This is the exact audience score of its sister film Black Adam, which sits at an even lower 39%. Its unclear if this positive reception from the audience will be able to save Shazam! Fury of the Gods from its current box office fate, but fans can only hope people will give the film a chance.
