Is Asher Angel taking on the role of Nightwing? Fans are speculating the actor may return to the DC Universe following a Halloweekend post on social media.
There’s been a lot of speculation about who will be playing certain superheroes in the DC Universe. However, there are a certain few where almost every fan agrees on one actor to take on the mantle. Ben Schwartz as Plastic Man, Shayne Topp as Booster Gold, and, most relevant to today, Shazam!‘s Asher Angel as Nightwing.
While there’s been a lot of speculation that Asher Angel could play Nightwing in the DC Universe, there hasn’t been a lot of movement toward it becoming a reality. However, while there’s still no fire, there may be a bit of smoke finally forming. The actor recently posted an image of himself alongside someone dressed up as Nightwing for Halloween, with some believing this to be a cryptic hint teasing his casting as the hero.

Is Asher Angel Playing Nightwing?
In truth, it’s likely that this was a tongue-in-cheek post by Asher Angel acknowledging the viral fancast. With both of the DC Universe’s Batman films still a decent while from actually filming, it’s not likely that Angel would have concrete confirmation that he’s playing Nightwing at this time.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Asher Angel has teased his interest in playing Nightwing. The actor has made many posts hinting at his hopes to return to the DC Universe in a more substantial role. Though whether or not those hopes actually come to life likely won’t be seen for a few more years to come.
