She-Hulk: Attorney At Law creator Jessica Gao has revealed that she had no creative control over Daredevil’s look in the new Disney Plus series.
Way back in 2015, Daredevil made his first Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance in the Netflix series of the same name. The first season and third season are widely considered to be among Marvel’s best television. However, there was one slightly weak link with the character; his outfit.
At the end of the first season, the Netflix show revealed Daredevil’s full outfit and it was not very good. Future seasons improved the design slightly it remained something of an anomaly in the MCU which was normally very good at these things. Earlier this year, it was officially revealed that Daredevil would be joining She-Hulk: Attorney At Law in a new costume. The costume itself was noticeably yellow, making it a rather radical departure from the outfit he wore in the Netflix series.
While speaking to Life Hacker, Jessica Gao revealed that she had no control over the character’s look in the new She-Hulk series:
“Usually how they do it is they kind of let us propose what we want to do rather than give us guidelines. When they first told us that [Daredevil] was a possibility we just couldn’t believe it. And as we were coming up with story and what we wanted him to do, the fact that they kept not saying no was shocking to us. The one thing that I didn’t have control of was the suit. They knew exactly what they wanted the suit to look like.”
