The first reviews are in for Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and the series is off to a strong start on Rotten Tomatoes.
She-Hulk is the latest Marvel series to come to Disney Plus, introducing Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner who finds herself transformed into the incredible She-Hulk. The series, which sees Jennifer continuing her legal career after gaining her powers, has been described as a “half-hour legal comedy.”
While Marvel Studios is no stranger to comedy, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law appears to take the humor a step further and it looks like the gamble is paying off.
She-Hulk Lands A ‘Fresh’ Early Score
At the time of writing, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is sitting at an impressive 95% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 77 critic ratings.
While Rotten Tomatoes scores are liable to change as more reviews roll in, and while the critics’ scores don’t alway line up with those of the audience, this is a positive early sign for She-Hulk. Early reactions praised Marvel’s fun new legal comedy and the sentiment carries over into the show’s first reviews.
Reviewers are calling She-Hulk “hilarious” with the series’ fourth-wall breaking comedy – something ripped straight from Marvel’s She-Hulk comics – proving a popular talking point as well. The series seems set to provide a funnier, tongue-in-cheek take on the MCU.
She-Hulk‘s release this week will see whether general audiences agree with reviewers, but after early concerns over footage seen in the series’ first trailer, it sounds like She-Hulk is prepared to smash any doubts.
Here is the synopsis for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law:
