A new image from behind the scenes of Marvel’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 reveals Zoe Saldana in costume as Gamora.

Gamora’s role in the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie has been shrouded in mystery ever since the release of Avengers: Endgame. While Gamora’s life was sacrificed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War in exchange for the Soul Stone, a version of the character from an earlier point in time was brought into the present in Endgame.

This Gamora promptly vanished following the Avengers’ final confrontation with Thanos, leaving Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill searching for his lost love who no longer remembers him.

Gamora Returns In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

A new behind-the-scenes image reveals Zoe Saldana in her full make-up and costume as Gamora for the Guardians of the Galaxy’s third and final outing in the MCU.

This image offers fans their first glimpse of Gamora’s costume for Vol. 3 outside of the footage shown at San Diego Comic-Con. Check it out below:

Little has been seen of Saldana’s Vol. 3 Gamora look in the few images from the film that have emerged so far. The above image was first shared by Zoe Saldana as part of a video shared on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from her next MCU appearance.

The Comic-Con footage of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 reportedly revealed Gamora would be leading the Ravagers in the new film and her outfit here, which is reminiscent of the Ravager garb seen in previous Guardians films, appears to confirm that.

Director James Gunn recently confirmed Gamora would not be appearing in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special for Disney Plus, so fans will have to wait for Vol. 3 to see more of Zoe Saldana’s deadly daughter of Thanos.

The Guardians recently appeared in Thor: Love and Thunder. Here is the synopsis:

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Taika Waititi and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, the Thor solo film stars Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.

Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder is now playing in theaters. Meanwhile, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
