Jessica Gao, head writer of the latest MCU Disney Plus series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, has said she thinks Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters will go on to appear in Marvel’s movies.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law ushers a new hulk into the MCU, introducing Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner. The first episode sees Jennifer transformed into She-Hulk, though she makes it clear she has no intention of becoming a superhero.
Despite her initial reluctance, it looks like Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk could have a career with the Avengers in her future. Jessica Gao has revealed she expects to see the character teaming up with other Marvel heroes on the big screen.
She-Hulk Joins The Avengers
During a recent appearance on Deadline’s Hero Nation podcast, Jessica Gao said she would be “shocked” if She-Hulk didn’t make the jump into Marvel’s team-up movies.
Although She-Hulk has made her debut as the ultimate reluctant hero, Jessica Gao made it clear that she sees a heroic future for the character in Marvel’s movies, alongisde other superheroes. This might suggest the character is going to have a change of heart about using her powers as a hero over the course of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
When asked whether she thinks She-Hulk might show up in the recently announced Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, Gao said “I would be shocked if they didn’t start putting her in the movies, especially the group team-up movies.”
As Marvel’s Disney Plus series are still a relatively new format for the studio, it hasn’t been always been clear how strongly some of the shows – such as Moon Knight and She-Hulk, which introduce new heroes and are not designed as set-ups for MCU films – will tie into Marvel’s theatrical releases. However, it sounds like MCU fans should expect to see She-Hulk on the big screen soon.
