‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ Adds Shea Whigham & Jorma Taccone

Sony has revealed two more classic Spider-Man characters will be in the sequel!

Sony revealed that Shea Whigham and Jorma Taccone are part of the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse voice cast.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was recently showcased at the Annecy Festival in France. Sony later released the first look at The Spot online, but more footage was shown behind closed doors. It was also revealed at the event that Shea Whigham and Jorma Taccone would lend their voices for the sequel.

More Iconic Spidey Characters

The first Spider-Verse film saw Kingpin as the main villain with a gender-swapped Doctor Octopus, Scorpion, Tombstone, The Prowler, and Green Golbin as side characters. In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the sequel will feature Jorma Taccone as Vulture.

Joker star Shea Whigham voices Gwen’s dad, George Stacy, who is described as a “by the books cop.” You can read a description of the Across the Spider-Verse footage shown at the Annecy Festival that featured George Stacy and Vulture, along with a new poster below.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.

Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Dave Callaham, the animated film features the voices of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Oscar Isaac, Issa Rae, Shea Whigham, and Jorma Taccone.
