First Look At Jake Gyllenhaal As Mysterio In ‘Spider-Man Far From Home’

Jake Gyllenhaal Mysterio Spider-ManSpider-Man: Far From Home is currently in principal photography right now, and while there have been some exciting set photos featuring Tom Holland as Peter Parker and his fellow classmates traveling overseas, we finally have a glimpse at how Academy Award-nominee Jake Gyllenhaal will look like as the film’s antagonist: Quentin Beck a.k.a. Mysterio.

This will be the first time we see Mysterio on the big screen in a Spider-Man film, and the fact that we have a great actor like Gyllenhaal fulfilling the role as he fights Spider-Man in this new adventure is surely an exciting prospect.

Details on the plot are currently under wraps, though the film will follow Peter Parker as he joins his friends on a summer vacation in Europe and reportedly stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. Introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #13, the most well-known incarnation of Mysterio is a special effects wizard named Quentin Beck and the character has been a frequent foe for the web-head since his debut.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, Numan Acar, J.B. Smoove, Oli Hill, Remy Hii, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released in theaters on July 5, 2019.
