Nicolas Cage is finally suiting up! Set photos from Spider-Man Noir give fans their first look at the highly-anticipated series.
Fans were skeptical when it was first announced that a Spider-Man Noir series was in production. That worry was heightened when Nicolas Cage revealed he was attached to star. The character is such a fickle one with a very specific tone. Given Cage’s hit-and-miss career and Sony’s failure to bring any Spider-Man show to market, all signs pointed to this project ending up as either an unadulterated disaster or scrapped before it could ever be made.
However, with filming finally beginning on Spider-Man Noir, things actually look good. Set photos from the series first revealed by TMZ show off the costume that Nicolas Cage will be wearing as the turtlenecked webslinger. The suit is surprisingly comic-accurate, somehow managing to bring the over-the-top Noir aesthetic to life without making it seem as goofy as the concept implies.
Spider-Man Noir Set Video Teases Intense Action
A handful of set photos showing Nicolas Cage’s costume weren’t the only things to come out of the production of Spider-Man Noir. A set photo was also released showing the actor (or at the very least, his stunt double) participating in some death-defying stunts. While it isn’t clear who he’s fighting, the video does highlight that Spider-Man isn’t the only thing on set themed to the times.
Spider-Man Noir is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting romp. In response to these set photos and video coming out, insider DanielRPK revealed that Nicolas Cage will be fighting Sandman in the first episode of the series, suggesting that things will only get crazier from there. Though knowing Sony, there’s still plenty of rope to hang themselves with before they officially cross the finish line.
