The finale for the latest Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, beat out The Book of Boba Fett in the number of views.
In what feels like an eternity ago, The Mandalorian premiered on Disney Plus, kicking off a number of live-action Star Wars projects on the streaming service. The first project was, of course, The Book of Boba Fett which was a direct continuation of Boba Fett’s story from the second season of The Mandalorian. The spinoff series itself was ultimately controversial among fans but still managed to bring in the views that even beat out several Marvel shows. However, it appears that, once again, Boba Fett cannot compete with a Jedi.
Last month, Obi-Wan Kenobi premiered on Disney Plus. Originally envisioned as a full film trilogy, the project was converted into a Disney Plus project following Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s underperformance at the box office. After several delays, the show went on to have the biggest premier of any Disney Plus project. Now it seems that the season finale beat out that of The Book of Boba Fett‘s in sheer number of views.
The Numbers Tell The Story
According to a new report from Deadline, Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s season finale brought in over 1.8M views over the course of five days. Comparatively, The Book of Boba Fett drew on 1.5M views in five days marking a noticeable increase. Whether or not these numbers will lead to a second season, however, is currently unknown.
Here is the synopsis for Obi-Wan Kenobi:
