A brand new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker clip reveals the First Order have upgraded some of their Stormtroopers.

While fans are counting down the days to the final chapter in the new Star Wars trilogy, a new clip from The Rise of Skywalker has been revealed on Twitter showing off the First Order’s upgraded technology.  While the new Star Wars footage doesn’t reveal any dramatic new plot information, it gives fans an idea of the riveting action they can expect when The Rise of Skywalker arrives in theaters in December. The footage shows off Rey, Finn, Poe, BB-8 and C3-PO escaping from the First Order, but the enemy might have the upper hand.

The new footage from The Rise of Skywalker shows the Stormtroopers riding rocket propelled sand-mobiles across the desert planet, but they have a surprising function that helps the First Order catch up with the heroes. The back-end of the bikes shoots upwards catapulting the Jet-Troopers through the air before they ignite their rocket packs. It’s definitely an inventive way of chasing the escaping heroes. Take a look at the new footage from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker below.
