A new TV spot for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker showcases a new shot of the Knights of Ren.
The elusive organization that Kylo Ren is ostensibly the leader of was first teased in Star Wars: The Force Awakens with dialogue from Supreme Leader Snoke and a short scene in a flashback sequence, although the Knights of Ren were absent from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It’s been known that they would be in The Rise of Skywalker for quite some time, but they’ve been absent from the footage revealed so far… Until today.
The latest TV spot for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker indicates that the Knights of Ren will assist the new Supreme Leader in carrying out his mission to stop the Resistance’s leaders for good and to snuff out the Jedi. While they are not shown taking action, it’s revealed in the new TV spot that they will be present on Pasaana, the desert planet where some kind of alien festival is being held. Check it out below:
It appears as though the Knights of Ren will likely be supporting players in the narrative of The Rise of Skywalker, which director J. J. Abrams has stated will focus on the four main characters of the Sequel Trilogy thus far: Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, and Ben Solo (Kylo Ren). Still, it seems likely that their involvement will be important to the narrative of the last movie in the Star Wars “Skywalker Saga”.
Directed by J. J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Ian McDiarmid, and Billy Dee Williams. Carrie Fisher will also appear as General Leia Organa through the use of previously unreleased footage shot from previous Star Wars films.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to hit theaters on December 20, 2019.
