‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ D23 Trailer Officially Released Online

Disney has released the  brand new trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that debuted at its D23 Expo this past weekend.

Coming off the heels of the first trailer for The Mandalorian, and the announcement of Ewan McGregor’s return to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lucasfilm unveiled a brand new trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker during The Walt Disney Studios presentation at D23. The new trailer released at Disney’s biennial expo offers fans a brand new look at the upcoming final installment of the Skywalker Saga, which is set to hit theaters this holiday season.

Full plot details for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker are currently under wraps, though the film is set to conclude the Skywalker saga before the franchise takes a three-year hiatus from theaters.

Directed by J. J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Ian McDiarmid, and Billy Dee Williams. Carrie Fisher will appear as General Leia Organa through the use of previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released in theaters on December 19, 2019.

Disney's remake The Lion King is next in the studios' line-up of live-action retellings of their animated classics and now several new character posters for the film have been unveiled. These new posters for The Lion King may offer the best look yet at the photo-realistic versions of Simba, Nala, Mufasa, Scar, Timon, Pumbaa, Sarabi, young Simba, young Nala, Sarabi, Rafiki, and Zazu.

Here is the official synopsis for The Lion King:

Director Jon Favreau’s all-new “The Lion King” journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.
