Director J. J. Abrams revealed a script for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker leaked online after one of the actors misplaced their copy.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will conclude the nine-film saga that began with the release of the original film in 1977. Understandably, Disney and Lucasfilm have taken the necessary security measures to prevent the secrets of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker from leaking before the film debuts in theaters next month.

Despite the precautions, J. J. Abrams revealed a copy of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker script was nearly sold eBay. According to J. J. Abrams, one of the actors had left the screenplay under their bed, where it was discovered by someone who was cleaning their place and tried to sell it online:

“One of our actors, I’m not gonna say which one — I want to, but I won’t — left it under their bed and it was found by someone who was cleaning their place. And it was given to someone else, who then went to sell it on eBay.”

Fortunately, as J. J. Abrams explained, someone who worked for Disney spotted the listing for the script and the company was able to retrieve it before it was sold.

Here is the official synopsis for J. J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker:
