Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an upcoming game where the titular team of villains face off against a Justice League whose minds have been taken over by Brainiac. Following a divisive gameplay showcase, the game has been delayed with no new release date.
This isn’t even the first time Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has seen a major delay. The original announcement put the game’s release date at the end of 2022. However, for unknown reasons, the game was pushed back to May of 2023. A new report from Bloomberg now reveals that the game will be delayed even further following backlash to “add more polish.”
When the announcement first broke by Bloomberg, many fans rejoiced at the thought that the delay would mean heavy changes for the game. This is because much of the backlash to the gameplay wasn’t in the polish, but rather the “live service” model of gameplay that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League featured. However, according to video game journalist Jason Schreier, a delay like this likely wouldn’t change the core gameplay. No new date has been set for the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
The storyline of the Suicide Squad game
“The creators of the Batman: Arkham series are back with a brand new action-adventure shooter,” reads a synopsis for the game. “The most dangerous villains in the DC Universe have been forced to team up and take on a new mission: Kill the Justice League. Create Chaos in Metropolis. You are the Suicide Squad.”
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League sees Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark taking on characters like Superman, Batman and The Flash, who are possesed by the villainous Brainiac. It’s the first Rocksteady game since 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight and 2016’s Batman: Arkham VR.
