Could Meg Donnelly be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe? The former Supergirl frontrunner wants to take on the role of Spider-Gwen or a fan-favorite X-Men character.
Ever since it was revealed that Meg Donnelly was one of the finalists to play Supergirl in the DC Universe, fans have been hoping that the actress would make a play to join the MCU. When asked if she’d ever be interested in a Marvel role, Donnelly admitted that it would be a dream to play Spider-Gwen.
“In the MCU? Ooh. I mean, I would, Gwen Stacy,” Donnelly told The Hollywood Handle in a recent interview. “I love her so that that would be really cool or like Spider-Gwen would be really cool. I don’t think they’re planning on it, but a live version of the spider verse that would be cool because she’s really awesome. There’s so many.”
Given how popular Spider-Gwen has been since the release of the Spider-Verse films, fans expect it will only be a matter of time until she joins the MCU. Meg Donnelly would certainly be a great choice. However, it’s not the only role that the Supergirl frontrunner has eyes for.
Meg Donnelly Wants To Join The MCU’s X-Men
Marvel is set to go all-in on the X-Men in the next phase of the MCU. It seems like Meg Donnelly wants in! The actress is also eyeing a character a lot more flashy than Supergirl. Continuing in the interview, she revealed that one of her friends wanted her to go as Dazzler for Halloween, but she also thinks it’d be a cool role to play on screen.
“My friend just sent me the other day like, Dazzler from X Men,” Donnelly continued. “And she was like, I should go as her for Halloween and I was like that’d be cool.”
Dazzler is an X-Men member fans have been begging to see on the big screen for a long time. Some people thought that Taylor Swift could play the mutant in Deadpool and Wolverine. While that isn’t likely, Meg Donnelly being Marvel’s Popstar Mutant could be exactly the change of pace that the MCU needs when entering a new era.
