Superman day is delivering some special goodies! A new BTS video gives fans a peek behind the curtain at how James Gunn and his crew brought the DC Universe to life.
Today is Superman day. While nobody knew exactly what was coming, they knew that James Gunn wouldn’t waste the holiday in trying to promote his upcoming reboot. And to say that people were underestimating his convictions would be understating it, as an absolute flurry of DC Universe merch, from figures to lamps, have been finding their way online as the project nears release.
However, perhaps the most exciting thing that James Gunn and his team have orchestrated is a BTS video showcasing the production of Superman. It gives fans their first look behind the curtains of the new DC Universe. Not only did it show off how excited many of the actors are for the upcoming project, but shows off some shocking new looks, such as seeing the first clear shot of Anthony Carrigan’s Metamorpho.

The Secret Villain Of Superman
The biggest thing fans can takeaway from the BTS footage doesn’t come from the heroes, but the villains. The specific shot is at 1:12, where James Gunn is seen kneeling in front of what appears to be a legion of Lex Corp soldiers. Alongside them is the mysterious “U” villain and The Engineer, suggesting that María Gabriela De Faría’s character may be more villainous than fans first thought.
There is another armored suit, similar to the Lex Corp soldiers, at 1:40 of the BTS footage. Who this is isn’t exactly clear. It’s possible that this is how Lex’s Warsuit will look in the DC Universe. However, it’s also possible that James Gunn is using that armor to obscure a character that may be a major spoiler, such as the true identity of the “U” villain.
