Superman's villain has been revealed!

Do fans finally know the identity of the true villain in Superman? A rumor suggests that the character’s true nature may be simpler than people think.

Despite how many months of collective human discourse the film has taken up, fans know surprisingly little about Superman. The film is still full of mysteries, such as why Metamorpho is detached from the rest of the team, what Maxwell Lord’s role will be in the film, and why Nathan Fillion was cast as Guy Gardner. However, perhaps the biggest mystery is the identity of the infamous “U” villain.

First spotted in set photos during the production of Superman, the “U” villain is a mysterious figure clad in all black with the letter stamped on his chest. His appearance got the rumor mill absolutely chugging with possibilities. Was he a member of the Authority? Was he Ulysses? Could he even be Ultraman? Yet as the film is less than three months from releasing, there has still been no official word on who the character could be.

Who Is The Villain Of Superman?

Yet now, all these months later, it seems as though a concrete answer is finally being provided about the “U” villain. The latest rumor from MyTimeToShineHello shines some much needed light on the character’s identity. According to the scooper, the character is very much the “Ultraman” of the DC Universe as fans expected. However, that’s because they themselves are a clone of David Corenswet’s version of Superman.

“I can now 100% confirm that the Superman clone and final boss for the Superman movie is indeed Ultraman.”

While this has long been a theory among fans, this rumor is the closest anyone has gotten to “confirmation” regarding the villain’s identity. This also lines up with what James Gunn has said about Superman, with the director insisting Lex Luthor is the true villain, as it’s likely that Lex created Ultraman and a number of other villains to try to ruin Superman’s reputation with the public.

Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
