Isabela Merced finally gets a break from the mask! New Superman set photos give fans their first look at Hawkgirl without her iconic helmet.
Fans have had a lot to say online about the costumes in Superman, especially when it comes to Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl. It’s understandable, given its such a wide departure from the comics despite having a picture-perfect helmet. However, a new batch of set photos allows fans to cast their judgement on the suit without the mask!
This angle confirms that Hawkgirl’s suit will also have a Lordtech logo, just like Mister Terrific’s and Guy Gardner’s. Isabela Merced is also sporting a haircut quite a bit shorter than usual, which is a trademark of Hawkgirl in the comics. It certainly seems that, no matter what fans think of the suit, Superman certainly nailed what it was going for!
The Many Suits Of Superman
Sitting at the opposite end of the spectrum to Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl is the mysterious character seen with Rick Flag Sr. While Hawkgirl’s white suit has soured many fans’ opinion on a perfect casting, the mysterious black suit seen in set photos has allowed fans to insert their wildest dreams into the plot of Superman.
Superheroes aren’t the only ones getting suits in Superman. The Daily Planet supporting cast also revealed their new digs in a recent batch of set photos. It’s clear that Judianna Makovsky, the film’s costume designer, is hitting it out of the park in absolutely every aspect!
