Fans finally have new footage of Superman! A TV spot for the DC Universe project gives fans fresh looks at Lex Luthor and the Man of Steel himself.
Last month the long wait for a Superman trailer finally came to an end when the first pieces of footage from the DC Universe film were released in theaters alongside Sonic The Hedgehog 3. Fans combed over the footage over and over in attempt to gleam what James Gunn has in store for the Man of Steel, spawning dozens of fan theories such as Lex Luthor creating the Kaiju and Metamorpho being kidnapped to create Kryptonite.
Yet it seems that trailer was far from able to satiate fans starving for a new take on the DC Universe. They combed over every frame of footage in a recently released a TV spot for Superman, realizing that it contains two not-yet-seen sequences from the film: the Man of Steel flying through Antarctica, and Lex Luthor stepping from a plane with his unknown ally (Though this happens to be a continuation of a shot shown in the theatrical version of the trailer).
When Will The Next Superman Trailer Release?
Given an entire DC Universe is riding on the shoulders of Superman, many fans James Gunn to release a new trailer at the Super Bowl to ensure as many people as possible see the footage. However, the director revealed that the Man of Steel will actually be making an appearance at the Puppy Bowl, with Gunn planning to showcase a new look at the project during the event.
It’s unclear if Superman‘s appearance at the Puppy Bowl will be a full-length trailer, despite fans certainly getting new footage. It’s likely that the next true trailer will release sometime in April, not only due to it being the halfway point for the film’s release, but because April 18th is Superman Day. Given James Gunn has a history of celebrating the anniversary of DC Universe characters, it’s certain something big is in store that day.
Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
