It’s been known for awhile now that Sylvester Stallone would be taking on an important albeit small role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Now, it sounds like his role may have been revealed via an Italian press release.
If the release proves to be accurate, Stallone will be playing Stakar Ogord, a.k.a. Starhawk, in the film.
In the comics, Starhawk is a descendant of Quasar and Kismet, also known as Her or Ayesha, who Elizabeth Debicki is playing in Vol. 2. The character is also from an alternate reality in the comics and has even been a Guardian at times. And, even though past speculation about Stallone’s character has said he will be playing a Ravager, Starhawk isn’t traditionally one in the comics. Regardless, James Gunn could certainly mix things up and actually make him one in the film.
Right now, this revelation hasn’t been confirmed by Marvel, so things could change. For the moment though, it seems that we finally have an idea of who Stallone will be playing. You can also see the press release, sent out via Twitter, below.
