The Boys star Karl Urban has opened up about his potential involvement with the upcoming Judge Dredd: Mega City One show series.

Before he was killing superheroes in The Boys, Karl Urban had made a name for himself as the face behind the helmet in the 2012 film Dredd. Based on the comic book character, Dredd was a film that sadly underperformed at the box office but became a cult film following its release on home media. Sadly due to its low returns plans for a sequel never manifested.

While the Judge Dredd IP seems to be on hold a new television series titled Judge Dredd: Mega City One is currently in development. For a time, Karl Urban was in talks to reprise his role as the titular character but these talks seemed to have fallen through. Despite the series entering development nearly five years ago, nothing has manifested from it.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, The Boys star was asked about his involvement with the Judge Dredd show. Karl Urban was a bit coy about whether or not he would be in it but couldn’t wait to see what they do regardless:

Regardless of whether or not I’m involved with it, I think it’s such a wonderful property. John Wagner and his entire staff of writers and illustrators have created so many wonderful stories that I, personally, as a fan of Dredd, would love to see. I can’t wait to see what they do with it.

Karl Urban will next appear in The Boys‘ third season. Here is the synopsis for the upcoming season:

It’s been a year of calm. Homelander’s subdued. Butcher works for the government, supervised by Hughie of all people. But both men itch to turn this peace and quiet into blood and bone. So when The Boys learn of a mysterious Anti-Supe weapon, it sends them crashing into the Seven, starting a war, and chasing the legend of the first Superhero: Soldier Boy.

The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, and Jensen Ackles.

The Boys‘ third season will premiere on Amazon on June 3rd. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming season and the Judge Dredd series and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
