The Boys is coming back to town for season 4! Two new posters featuring Anthony Starr’s Homelander and Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher have been revealed to announce a 2024 release date on Amazon Prime Video.

Following the spectacular spin-off that was Gen V, The Boys fans have been frothing at the mouth for any news about season 4. It seems as though the news was worth the wait, with two new posters showing off Homelander (Anthony Starr) surrounded by confetti and Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) standing defeated in a void of balloons, suggesting this upcoming season will focus on [SPOILER ALERT] the election of Homelander as president, just like in the comics.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke also provided an update on the show’s production. While there’s no official release date for season 4, VFX is halfway done and music and sound are a quarter done. With the SAG-AFTRA strike now over, actors like Anthony Starr and Karl Urban can start ADR work for Homelander and Billy Butcher respectively, suggesting fans won’t need to wait long.

The full cast of Gen Z and the future of The Boys

Gen V follows the dysfunctional cast of heroes at Godolkin University. Following a successful freshman semester, The Boys spin-off has been renewed for season 2 at Amazon Prime Video.

The cast of Gen V also includes Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Chance Perdomo as Andre Anderson, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer (a.k.a. Little Cricket), Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, Clancy Brown, Alexander Calvert and Jason Ritter. Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie and P.J. Byrne are also on board, reprising their roles from The Boys.

In addition to Gen V, Amazon is also working on the fourth season of The Boys. Season three introduced Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Homelander’s equally dangerous biological father, and saw Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher and Jack Quaid’s Hughie starting to use Temp-V, a variant of Compound V that grants the user temporary superpowers.
