It seems The Boys are well and truly back! A new industry report suggests season 5 of the series is already in production prior to season 4 hitting Prime Video this June.

After two long years of waiting, The Boys season 4 is finally set to release this year, with Amazon’s flagship superhero franchise returning on June 13, 2023. However, it seems the wait for season 5 is going to be much shorter, with a new listing on ProductionList.com suggesting the next season is already in pre-production and is set to shoot in April despite there being no official confirmation of renewal.

Seasons 4 and 5 aren’t the only things coming down the pipeline for The Boys universe. Their first live-action spin-off, Gen V, has officially been renewed for a second season. In addition, the franchise is working on another series tentatively titled The Boys: Mexico.

The Boys Are Back In Town

The Boys season 4 will feature the return of Simon Pegg as Hughie’s father. Amazon has also announced that the series has added Rosemarie Dewitt, Rob Benedict and Elliot Knight. Dewitt is playing Hughie’s mother, but the identities of Benedict and Knight’s The Boys characters are being kept under wraps. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has also been cast in an unknown role.

The third season of The Boys introduced Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Homelander’s equally dangerous biological father, and saw Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher and Jack Quaid’s Hughie starting to use Temp-V, a variant of Compound V that grants the user temporary superpowers.

Developed by Eric Kripke, The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Jensen Ackles and Paul Reiser.
