The Duffer Brothers, creators, and showrunners of the Stranger Things series have revealed who originally died in Season 4.
SPOILERS FOR STRANGER THINGS SEASON 4 TO FOLLOW!
The fourth season of Stranger Things can aptly be described as an emotional rollercoaster. New characters were introduced. Some lived and some died while older characters mostly stuck around. The big moment that everyone is talking about, however, was the death of Eddie Munson who died fighting Vecna’s bats in the upside down. In addition, Max also was also nearly killed by Vecna and ended up in a coma, and is apparently brain dead. However, these two were not the only characters who were in The Duffer Brothers’ crosshairs.
Who Was Set To Get The Axe?
While speaking to Collider, The Duffer Brothers revealed that Eddie Munson wasn’t the only new character who was set to die in Stranger Things season 4. As it turned out, the Russian guard, Dimitri/Enzo was originally one of the season’s casualties:
“In terms of who makes it, who lives or dies. I think there was a version where Dimitri, AKA Enzo, didn’t make it. Then he ended up making it. But that’s [the most] radical of a departure from the original idea versus what we ended up with.”
Here is the synopsis for the fourth season of Stranger Things:
“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”
Created by the Duffer Brothers, the Netflix series stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Brett Gelman, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn.
