While Pascal is a highly beloved actor, and currently one of Hollywood’s most in-demand leading men, many fans didn’t see the vision of him playing Marvel’s smartest man alive.
Public opinion has warmed on Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic throughout recent months. However, his character has been oddly absent in set photos that have leaked from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. A recent batch posted by Javier Canal Diez on social media gives fans their first look at the actor in the iconic role, with pieces of his suit poking from his pullover.

There may be a reason that Pedro Pascal has appeared in set photos less than his co-stars. Previous attempts to adapt the super team have put Mister Fantastic front and center as the main character. However, all signs point to The Fantastic Four: First Steps putting Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm in the driver’s seat for the project, especially given set photos confirm a character closely tied to her will be making their live-action debut in the film.
This doesn’t mean that Mister Fantastic will be largely absent from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Marvel wouldn’t spend Pedro Pascal money for just a cameo! Rather, he’ll likely be acting as part of the family unit, meaning that he hasn’t had as many scenes alone in the outdoors for paparazzi to catch on their drones.
