Beware of Galactus, puny humans! A new rumor suggests the iconic Marvel villain is in search of a greater power in The Fantastic Four.
It’s recently been confirmed that Ralph Ineson will be playing Galactus in The Fantastic Four. This cemented the plot in many fan’s minds: The film focuses on Marvel’s first family stopping the villain from eating their world. However, a new rumor suggests the film will turn his motivation on its head.
Instead of seeking to destroy life, Galactus may be looking to find it. According to scooper CanWeGetSomeToast, the Devourer of Worlds will be seeking out Franklin Richards throughout The Fantastic Four. Franklin Richards is the son of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, with a prior leak suggesting that the child will be born in space.
Galactus’ History With Franklin Richards
One wouldn’t think Galactus and Franklin Richards would have much in common given their age gap. However, the duo have a long history in Marvel’s The Fantastic Four comics. Richards actually took up Galactus’ role as the Devourer of Worlds on Earth X. Another time, Franklin made Galactus HIS Herald, turning the usual dynamic around on the cosmic being.
These insane events all stem from Franklin Richards being one of the most powerful reality warpers in all of Marvel comics. If this pattern holds in The Fantastic Four, it only makes sense that Galactus would seek to tame such power for himself. Though given the character will likely be a toddler in the film, it’s likely Ralph Ineson is in for one embarrassing MCU debut!
