#1 – The Twist Ending
It was a little letdown that we didn’t get to see the iconic shot from the Flashpoint comic where Barry goes back in time to stop himself, but given the circumstances in this situation, I understand why it had to be Eobard. As we come back to the restored timeline, Eobard takes off with the biggest grin as Barry faces a painful new reality: Iris and Joe’s entire relationship has been drastically altered. And while this may be one of the changes, something tells me that we should prepare ourselves for even more surprising changes throughout the season.
Verdict: While it was a bummer to see certain iconic factors from the original comic missing, the show did a solid adaptation of the Flashpoint storyline. Although it feels like that they would have made themselves a huge favor if they had done this as a two-part premiere. This cast was on their A-games as always and it was genuinely fun to see how the show approached this story. Overall, a solid premiere that gave us a good setup for what will a huge season.
The Flash Season 3 airs on Tuesday nights at 8/7c on The CW.
