It seems even The Flash is a fan of Superman! Grant Gustin recently revealed his conversations with DC Studios co-chair James Gunn.
Ever since James Gunn started following Grant Gustin on social media, fans have been speculating that Gustin may return as The Flash in the new DC Universe. While Gustin has confirmed that the two have spoken, it turns out that it wasn’t for a job, but rather just to gush about Gunn’s upcoming Superman project.
“We’ve never talked about Flash,” Gustin told The Wrap. “We’ve talked, just like, I’m a huge Superman fan. I’ve always been a Superman fan, since I was a kid. So, I’m just really excited about the movie. And I’m excited about David [Corenswet]’s casting.”
“I’m excited to see what James Gunn does with it. So, I think at one point – maybe a couple of different times, we’ve DM’d about Superman. We’ve literally never talked Flash. I’m just excited he’s doing Superman.”
It’s refreshing to see Grant Gustin so supportive of James Gunn’s plans for the new DC Universe. In a world where it seems almost everyone has turned on comic book properties, seeing a former actor for The Flash geek out with a director about their upcoming Superman movie is sure to warm the hearts of fans.
Could Grant Gustin Join The New DC Universe
While Grant Gustin hasn’t spoken to James Gunn about a potential role in the new DC Universe, that doesn’t mean he may not have a part in it if Superman succeeds. Many have been hoping for him to reprise his role as The Flash on the silver screen, be it the one from his CW show or as an alternate version of Jay Garrick for a multiverse story.
Another role fans think James Gunn could cast Grant Gustin in is the Music Meister. The Flash actor has a long history of musical theater, even having his own musical crossover with Supergirl. This could make him the perfect fit to play the Corrupt Conductor in the rebooted DC Universe.
