‘The Incredible Hulk’ Easter Egg Connects To Chris Evans’ Captain America

Chris Evans Captain America The Incredible Hulk

An unearthed detail from The Incredible Hulk may have just connected the maligned film to Chris Evans’ Captain America.

Despite being part of the MCU, The Incredible Hulk has always been the black sheep considering it has had barely any consequences on the franchise. Even the main actor of the film, Edward Norton, didn’t even make it past one movie before being replaced by Mark Ruffalo. Sure, General “Thunderbolt” Ross has appeared in tons of Marvel films since The Incredible Hulk hit theatres in 2008, but the father of Betty Ross has mostly been relegated to a cameo. So while we all may choose to forget about one of the MCU’s blunders, this brand new detail from Reddit connects the film brilliantly to Chris Evans’ Captain America.

Found over on Reddit’s r/MovieDetails subreddit, this brand new detail bridges a seemingly unknown gap in the MCU. It turns out that the Super Soldier formula given to Emil Blonsky (Abomination) was actually created by Dr. Abraham Erskine, played by none other than Stanley Tucci in Chris Evans’ Captain America: The First Avenger. If you click on the links below, you’ll be taken to images that show how Dr. Reinstein is actually Dr. Erskine’s codename, making The Incredible Hulk effectively cooler.

In The Incredible Hulk (2008), the Super Soldier formula given to Emil Blonsky is labeled as having been developed by "Dr. Reinstein." In the Marvel comics, Reinstein was a codename used by Dr. Abraham Erskine, whose serum turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. from MovieDetails

Details such as these are the reason why fans love the MCU so much.In fact, Captain America star Chris Evans recently stated that the MCU is successful thanks to the eagle eyes and determination of producer Kevin Feige. Feige and his team of creatives add so much depth to all the films, even the ones that don’t necessarily get love from fans like The Incredible Hulk. One can only imagine how many details such as this Captain America connection haven’t been discovered considering no one really pays any attention to it.
