While the last season of The Mandalorian was a bit of a dud with fans, the internet has still been eagerly awaiting any news about season 4. However, the newest rumor in the mill seems to be the Disney Plus series will be adapted into a film.

Star Wars seems to be making an effort to push away from Disney Plus and back into blockbuster films. It seems as though this has put The Mandalorian in Disney’s sights, with a new rumor suggesting that season 4 of the beloved show will instead be made into a film:

“A couple of months ago I shot this one down, that there were rumors that season four of The Mandalorian could be turned into a movie,” Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider recently revealed during The Hot Mic podcast. “I think at the time I didn’t think that was necessarily the case. However, that is now what I am starting to hear. That the odds are in that project’s favor, whatever season four of The Mandalorian turns out to be, whoever is in it, what it turns out, whatever shape it takes, it is looking like that could be the next Star Wars movie and that might be the thing that’s announced before the end of the year.”

The Mandalorian’s Star Wars future

While the prospect of a movie for The Mandalorian seems exciting, if only due to the bigger budget, it may turn out to be a rotten hand. Season 4 would allow for a lot more time to develop the nuances of the story that a 2-hour film simply can’t provide. However, this is still just a rumor, and will likely remain one for the next few months.

With its high-quality production, engaging storylines, and captivating characters, The Mandalorian has proven to be one of the best Disney Plus series to date. While the series hasn’t been officially renewed yet, Din Djarin and Grogu’s story is expected to continue.

The Mandalorian features Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, Werner Herzog, Omid Abtahi, Taika Waititi, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Temuera Morrison and Katee Sackhoff, among others. The series was created by Jon Favreau and executive produced by Dave Filoni, with episodes directed by Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Peyton Reed, Carl Weathers and Robert Rodriguez.

The first three seasons of The Mandalorian are available to stream on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news surrounding the Star Wars series and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
