The Sandman is finally back! Season 2 of the long-awaited Netflix series now has an official release date, alongside a brand new trailer.
The Sandman has been in a very odd place these past few years. The series was a smash hit when it came onto Netflix, providing a breath of fresh air that comic fans were sorely missing when it originally released. This gave the show a lot of momentum as it was gearing up for season 2. However, due a number of factors outside of their control, the team has been mostly silent about the hype leading up to what was now revealed to be the show’s final season.
Luckily, it seems as though The Sandman isn’t missing a step despite all of its troubles. Netflix has released the first official trailer for season 2, and it seems to be just as glorious as season 1. Not only does it seem like the series will finally be assembling all of The Endless, but it’ll be leaning just as heavily into the stunning visuals and high-concept storytelling that made it one of the best comic book shows to date.
When Will The Sandman Season 2 Release?
Along with the trailer comes an official release date for the Netflix series. Or rather, release dates. Much like many big budget streaming projects, The Sandman will be spread across two volumes. Season 2’s premiere date is on July 3rd. However, fans won’t have to wait very long for the finale, as the second batch of episodes will hit the platform on July 21st.
Currently, it’s unclear why The Sandman season 2 has been split into two parts if they’ll release so close together, nor how many episodes will go in each batch. However, with the release date so close, it likely won’t be long until more information about the project is released by Netflix or the cast and crew that worked on it.
