Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder will be available to stream in September for Disney Plus Day.
Thor: Love and Thunder received a mixed response from Marvel fans, with the film fully committing to the comedic done first established in Ragnarok. At the box office, the sequel earned less than Ragnarok but still passed $700 million worldwide. Love and Thunder marked the fourth film in the Thor franchise, and there’s no word on what’s next for Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder.
Happy Disney Plus Day!
With Disney Plus Day coming on September 8, it was announced on Monday that Thor: Love and Thunder will be available on the streaming service that day. A new episode of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law will also be released on Disney Plus Day.
Here is the synopsis for Thor: Love and Thunder:
The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Taika Waititi and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, the Thor sequel stars Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
