Jeff Goldblum Thor Love and Thunder

Concept art for Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder revealed a scene that featured the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).

Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder was director Taika Waititi’s second outing with Chris Hemsworth in the MCU. The film opened last month, but was subject to the most mixed reception any entry in the franchise has had since Eternals hit theaters last November. Some of those criticisms revolved around the film’s pacing, including the fact that entire scenes that included appearances from Jeff Goldblum, Peter Dinklage, and Lena Headey were deleted.

Will The Grandmaster return?

Jeff Goldblum ultimately didn’t return as The Grandmaster in Thor: Love and Thunder, but concept art from artist Laurent Ben-Mimourn reveals how Goldblum was depicted in a deleted scene from Taika Waititi’s film. You can check it out down below:

In the MCU, Jeff Goldblum’s The Grandmaster is depicted as the brother of Benicio del Toro’s The Collector, the latter of which was first seen in the mid-credits scene of Thor: The Dark World and then appeared in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Here is the synopsis for Thor: Love and Thunder:

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Taika Waititi and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, the Thor sequel stars Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
