Thor: Ragnarok concept artist Aleksi Briclot has revealed an early design for Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.
Thor: Ragnarok was a film that was notable for several reasons. It was the first solo Thor film that both audiences and critics seem to agree was not only watchable but flat out great. It notably saw Thor become king of the Asgardians as well as completing Loki’s arc, seeing the character go from a selfish diabolical schemer to man who would stand by his adoptive brother. Tom Hiddleston’s character sadly did not survive the events of Avengers: Infinity War but will return for his own Disney Plus series thanks to the time travel shenanigans of Avengers: Endgame. One thing that it did not change, however, was the look of the character.
The look of the character in Thor: Ragnarok notably similar to what had seen in previous films but, once upon a time, the character could have had a radically different look for the film. In a recent post, concept artist Aleksi Briclot revealed a design for the character that would have seen Loki’s look take more inspiration from traditional Celtic armor. Early exploration for Loki in Thor : Ragnarok. Keeping his huge horns mixed with a more traditional Celtic helmet. With chainmail. The big wolf in the background is just a nod to Fenris.
