Spider-Man: Miles Morales creative director Brian Horton has teased at the return of Peter Parker’s version of the iconic Marvel web-slinger.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that a new Spider-Man game was in development for the PlayStation 5 and that it would be focusing on Miles Morales’ version of the character. At first, this caused a bit of confusion as fans were unclear as to whether or not this game was going to be its own full, standalone installment or a full game. As it turned out the game was its own full thing but it did beg the question as to what would happen to Peter Parker.
Miles Morales was introduced in Marvel’s Ultimate Universe and took over the mantle of Spider-Man after Peter Parker was killed in a final battle with the Green Goblin. In the PlayStation 4 video game, Miles Morales was revealed to have similar powers at the game’s end with Peter Parker agreeing to train him in crime-fighting in The City That Never Sleeps DLC. The fact that this new game would be focusing solely on Miles Morales did bring up the question as to what became of Peter Parker’s Spider-Man and if he was still alive. However, it seems that the developers still have more stories to tell with the character.
On PlayStation’s blog, Spider-Man: Miles Morales creative director Brian Horton revealed that the developer team still had stories left to tell with Peter Parker but that this upcoming installment was about Miles who is a big part of their Spider-Man universe:
“Oh and one last thing: Many of you fans have wondered if Peter Parker is OK. Don’t worry, we still have much of Peter’s story left to tell. But this game is all about Miles, a critical part of our Spider-Man universe, and you won’t want to miss what happens.”
