The cast of Thunderbolts just keeps getting bigger! The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next big team-up film will reportedly feature key players from both Ant-Man and Black Widow.
Thunderbolts is expected to resume production in a few weeks, but the Marvel Studios movie is still gathering heroes from across the MCU. According to a new report by Production Weekly, Rachel Weisz is set to reprise her role as Melina Vostokoff from Black Widow in the film, with Laurence Fishburne also set to return as Bill Foster from Ant-Man And The Wasp.
This wouldn’t be the first time Rachel Weisz and Laurence Fishburne returned to the MCU either. Both actors had prominent roles in episodes of What If…? season 2 as Melina Vostokoff and Bill Foster respectively, even donning their iconic comic book costumes. It’s unclear what role the two will play in Thunderbolts if they do appear in the movie, though it’s not likely they’ll join the main team of anti-heroes.
Who is attached to the Thunderbolts movie?
During Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con presentation in July, it was revealed that Jake Schreier would direct the upcoming Thunderbolts project. Eric Pearson, the writer for Black Widow, had previously written a draft of the script before being replaced by Lee Sung Jin.
Thunderbolts features a star-studded cast, including Julia Louis-Dreyfuss as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes and Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross. Ayo Edebir and Steven Yeun are also on board in undisclosed roles.
Thunderbolts is currently set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
