Deadline reports DC Universe has cast former Doctor Who star Natalie Gumede as Mercy Graves in Titans season 2.
Production on the second season of DC Universe’s Titans is currently underway in Toronto and now Natalie Gumede has joined the series as Mercy Graves, the bodyguard and right-hand woman to Superman villain Lex Luthor who made her first appearance on Superman: The Animated Series. Since then, Marcy Graves has crossed over into the comics while also making appearances in film and live-action television. Now, Titans producers have released the following character bio for Natalie Gumede’s version of Mercy Graves:
Mercy Graves is the ruthless, cunning, right hand and bodyguard to the notorious Lex Luthor – serving her boss with unquestioned loyalty. Her connection to the Luthors runs deep, as Mercy has been a friend of the family and in Lex’s life since they were young.
Before landing the role of Mercy Graves on DC Universe’s Titans, Natalie Gumede was best known for her role as Ashley in 2014’s Doctor Who Christmas Special.

Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Richard “Dick” Grayson / Robin, Anna Diop as Koriand’r / Starfire, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth / Raven, and Ryan Potter as Garfield “Gar” Logan / Beast Boy. The series is also making a few additions for its sophomore outing, with Joshua Orpin and Esai Morales playing Superboy and Deathstroke, respectively. Chella Man and Chelsea T. Zhang have also joined Titans as Deathstroke’s children while Game of Thrones star Iain Glen is set to play Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman.
Titans is now available exclusively on DC Universe in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
